Three people I know reported benefit from taking slippery elm for their digestive issues. One suffered from Crohns Disease. Read up and found out it helps coat the lining of the stomach, ulcers, throat inflammation, Crohns Disease, IBS, GERD, dyspepsia, diverticulosis colitis etc.. Taken with Myrrh, it increases it antibacterial action. When taken with Chamomille, or ginger, it helps with hiatus hernia, oesophagitis refuls , and abdominal distension. It is soothing, expectorant, nutrient and antitussive. Acts as antacid and contains mucilage. This article below does not mention all the above: www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/slippery-elm-000274.htm
