Clay detox is gentle, non-toxic. It was given to Chernobyl survivors for damage control, in this case - detoxing radiation, thus preventing oncogenic cell activities, that is, mutation to cancer cells. It helps excreting accumulated toxins. Clay can be taken internally (make sure to top up minerals as clay leeches minerals, or find a good company that is laboratory certified, containing minerals), or it can be applied on the body using heat sheets, in baths, and foot baths, and poultices. Throughout the ages, clays therapies have been used to detox. To this day, exists clay therapies, mostly, in Eastern Europe, and some Health Spas in few European countries. A site which explains about Bentonite Clay, there are others. aboutclay.com/

Sharing & warning. I bought Bentonite Clay from a "trustworthy" company. The clay is supposed to be pure with no other compounds. The clay had a strange chemical smell. Took a drop of this clay - caused immediate allergic reaction. It was in powdered from, sold in a pouch. I used it as a poultice, and had no reaction. Read up on clay from several sources. Various types of clay, when to start taking it, or how to use as poultices. I am reading up on blue clay at the moment. Neat easy read site about clay: www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/clay.htm
