Have been drinking tea made fresh from fresh sliced ginger for two weeks now. Because of allergies, couldn't even smell ginger a few weeks ago!!! The benefits of Ginger for heart, diabetes, antimicrobial, and for nausea. To prepare: heat water, before it reaches boiling point, pour on freshly sliced ginger. Soak for a few mins, jcover the cup with a cloth, till the water cools down. Drink either with fresh lemons, honey or on its own. Chew remaining ginger and swallow if you can or spit it out after chewing. Drink at least 3 times daily for maintenance and six to seven cups a day during illness. (Incidentally, I read a while back that some hospitals are giving stroke patients honey post strokes, to prevent more strokes). In addition, there are published scientific papers to show evidence of the medicinal properties of ginger. In any case, I would not wait for published papers on beneficial compounds found in foods. Thousands of years of successful usage from what is touted as "folk medicine." Most foods contains curative compounds and nutrients. I also read that drinking fresh onion juice preventssrokes and heart attacks. Some I know, drink onion juice daily and successfully brought their cholesterol down increasing HDL, the good cholesterol. www.buderimginger.com/consumer_in...._properties.aspwww.umm.edu/altmed/articles/ginger-000246.htmRead more: health-quest.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=recent#ixzz1KWJZHK2e
