Watched some vids by irritating Dr Geger (see below). There is much misinformed advice contained in his vids, specially concerning flax seed oil.
It does not provide sufficient Omega 3 (EPA & DHA) as touted by companies selling them. It provides a higher amount of Omega 6 and Omega 9 which are all inflammatory.
Although, its possible for some to convert ALA to EPA & DHA, it depends on ethcnicity, gender and other variables. Even when the conversion occurs, its negligible. Vegetarian Omega 3 is different from fish, as is protein anamial/vegetal.
Flax seed contain a high level of ALA which is inflammatory. EPA & DHA are anti inflammatory, although recent research that these two under certain conditions can be also inflammatory. Hence, this is why many floxies and others felt their symptoms exacerbated about taking fish oil etc..
The vid was made in 2003, but ALA/EPA/DHAinfo was out there even then... Hum, listen to so called anti aging expert Dr Greger. As some good doctors say, become an expert, and do not rely on "experts info" out there, and listen to what your body tells..
