I experienced anaphylactic shock (difficulty breathing, throat swollen closed, right foot and ankle swollen to more than twice their normal size) in response to a Chinese herbal remedy my acupuncturist gave me. It's full of a thousand things I've never heard of in Chinese and labeled "Heat".

Do you know what kind of herb it was? Pay attention, if you react against other herbs/ food ...too. I hope you will feel soon better. Namid

Hi namid,
I am feeling better, as far as that goes. That happened a couple of weeks ago. But it was scary. And a friend of mine came over to spend the night to make sure I didn't die. I have no idea what is in "Heat" because the ingredients are all listed in Chinese and there are so many ingredients listed that I can't imagine it being more worthwhile to try to translate them all and look them all up than it would be to just never take one of those pills again. It was stupid of me to take it without knowing what was in it, but he told me it would help with the pain and inflammation and, of course, that's what I wanted so I gave it a shot. Lesson learned, I guess.
