Am on my third tub of Baboba dried freeze
powder. Highly recommend for a nutritious
shake. I usually have a teaspoon and drink
warm water.
Known to contains important nutrients such Vit C,
Vit A, B1, B2, B3, B6, amino acids, minerals such
as phosphorus, manganese, calcium, potassium,
iron, etc.. and rich in interpense, beta-amyrin plamitate, pectins,
saponins, triterpenoids beta-sisterol, saponins, sterols
and ursolic acid.
Interestingly, it contains properties which stimulates
gut flora microbial growth, in particular, Bifidobacteria.
Its known to be anti bacterial, relieves diarrhea & constipation high level of anti oxidants, etc..
Leaves, seeds and the pulp are used medicinally in Africa, Madagascar and by the Aborigines. A search would reveal that its used for several health issues including asthma and allergies. Since eating it, there has been some improvement for some symptoms, mostly due to malnutrition. Others taking baobab fruit powder, also reported alleviations of their symptoms.
Fun facts about this amazing tree. According to an article, baobab trees are 80%. Baobab trees which are hollow have been used as prisons in Western Australia for Aboroginal "criminals", bars, office, prisons, and offices. The article describes a government official, setting up office inside a baobab tree. I had the opportunity of seeing the amazing tree whilst in Africa. I wish I had looked closer at its wonderful nutritious fruits...
