Is this an increase in the production of lactic acid or a nerve thing? I can't even tell. The slightest use of my limbs causes the muscles to burn.
Are you or have you experienced this, too?

Mmm, the burning muscle, for me, feels exactly as if they were being injected with acid. Even slight physical exertion such as washing my hair for eg. There is another type of neuropathic burning, which feels different somehow, not specific to muscles, more to feet, it can also feel like frost bite type of pain. There is another which is from bluetooth phones, I get these on my arms. Its burning, tingly, wirery type of feeling on the skin, sometimes from puters too...

5.5 years latter I still have this esp in calves and worse when I don't get enough sleep. I believe it is related to mitochondrial malfunction. Also, my skin punch biopsies show reduced nerve fiber density.

Also, my skin punch biopsies show reduced nerve fiber density. Whats a skin punch biopsy? Is this test reliable, cause the muscle biopsy test is unreliable... as are all tests for mitochondrial dysfunction. Most are undiagnosed. Even when diagnosed other than a few vits and supps, and diet, some advocate a ketogenic diet, not much allopathic medicine can do. According to hundreds of articles, major contributor to mytochondrial dysufnctiton ?? MEDS, and top of the list culprits? Anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, psychropics and beta blockers!!!! As for burning muslce, if you have it follwing physical exertion, even if mild such as washing hair, ironing, etc... it sounds like oxidative stress, which means, best to avoid for now. Sometimes, muscles can hurt a few days later. Read some excellent articles which explains about oxidative stress in relation to physical exertion, physiology, mechanism, a couple may be posted here. But anyway, yes, I suffer from same...
